Privacy Policy - Go Silent: Silent Mode Timer

Go Silent: Silent Mode Timer ("the app") is developed by MPS Technology. This policy explains how the app handles your information. The same policy is available from the app's About screen.
Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
The app has no account system, login, or server of its own. Everything you set in the app—including your timer duration, your choice of Silent or Do Not Disturb mode, and your colour theme—stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Advertising
The app displays banner advertisements and occasional full-screen (interstitial) advertisements when a timer finishes. These ads are supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure advertisements, Google may collect:

  • Advertising ID (AAID): A resettable identifier assigned by Android.

  • IP address.

  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, language, and approximate country.

  • Approximate location: Derived from your IP address.

  • Interaction data: Whether an advertisement was viewed or clicked.
    This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's own policies:

    Consent (EEA, UK, and Other Regions Where Required)
    On first launch, the app checks whether you are in a region where consent requirements apply, such as the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, depending on applicable requirements and AdMob configuration. Where required, Google's consent form appears before advertisements load, allowing you to choose whether to permit personalised advertising. You can change your choice from within the app.
    You can also reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalised advertising through Android Settings → Google → Ads. The available options may vary by device and Android version.
    Permissions the App Uses
    The app uses the following permissions to provide its features:

  1. Internet Access: Allows the app to load advertisements through Google AdMob.

  2. Network State: Checks network connectivity for advertising services.

  3. Notification Policy Access: Allows the app to switch your phone to Silent or Do Not Disturb mode for your chosen duration and restore your previous sound settings when the timer ends.

  4. Post Notifications: Displays the ongoing timer notification so you can check the remaining time and stop the session.

  5. Foreground Service: Keeps the timer running reliably when you leave the app.

  6. Foreground Service Special Use: Supports the timer's continued operation so sound settings can be restored when the timer ends.

  7. Wake Lock: Helps keep the timer running while your device is idle.

  8. Schedule Exact Alarm: Schedules sound restoration for the timer's end time, subject to Android system restrictions.

  9. Receive Boot Completed: Allows the app to handle an active timer after your phone restarts, including resuming the timer or restoring your sound settings as appropriate.

  10. Vibration: Provides optional vibration feedback.
    These permissions support the app's timer, notification, sound-control, and advertising features. The app does not use them to read your messages, call history, contacts, or other personal information.
    Your Choices
    You can manage your privacy and app permissions at any time:

  11. Revoke permissions through Android Settings → Apps → Go Silent → Permissions.

  12. Reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalised advertising through Settings → Google → Ads, where available.

    Children
    The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If this changes, we will comply with applicable Google Play Families Policy requirements and adjust advertising practices as required.
