PDF Tools is developed by MPS. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

1. Your documents stay on your device

Every feature — merging, splitting, compressing, text recognition, adding and removing passwords, signing — runs entirely on your phone. Your files are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We operate no servers that receive them.

Files you create are stored in the app’s own folder until you share them or save them to Downloads. Removing the app deletes anything still in that folder.

2. What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit your documents, their contents, the passwords you enter, or any account information. The app has no login and no user accounts.

3. Advertising

The app shows a banner ad supplied by Google AdMob. To do this, Google may collect and process data as described in its own policies, including a device advertising identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and app usage signals. We do not receive your documents or their contents through this, and nothing from your files is shared with advertisers.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app asks for your advertising choices the first time it runs, using Google’s consent tool. Where consent is refused or unavailable, only non-personalised ads are shown.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in Android’s own settings, under Privacy → Ads.

4. Permissions

• Camera — used only when you open the document scanner, to photograph pages.

• Storage (Android 9 and older) — used only when you choose Save to Downloads. Newer Android versions do not require this permission.

Neither permission is used for anything else, and the app works without granting them if you do not use those features.

5. Text recognition

The Make searchable feature uses Google’s ML Kit text recognition. The model is bundled inside the app and runs offline. Page images are not sent anywhere.

6. Signatures

Signatures you import are processed on your device and stored in the app’s private folder. They are never uploaded, and they are deleted when you remove them from the app or uninstall it.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
